Plastering
We carry out a variety of different plastering services to improve the appearance of a room. This could be something as simple as skimming a single wall or ceiling to a full room being boarded & skimmed.
Skimming/Re-skimming
Skimming is applying a 2-3mm plaster finish coat onto a newly installed background. This could be plasterboard or a backing coat.Â
Re-skimming follows the same principles as skimming, only this is done on existing back grounds. Reasons for this could be wallpaper or tiles have been removed, causing the existing background to be damaged or just not be the desirable finish.
By doing this, it gives you a fresh background with which to apply new finishes.
Plaster Boarding (Drylining/Mechanical Fixed)
Plasterboard is installed in 1 of 2 ways. Drylining or Mechanical Fixed.
Drylining is when boards are fixed to solid backgrounds like brick or blockwork with an adhesive. Mechanical Fix is using screws to fix plasterboard to other backgrounds like stud walls or ceilings. Once these boards are suitably fix into place they can be skimmed to give you a smooth background that can be painted.
We can install different types of plasterboard depending on your requirements.

Floating/Backing Coats
Backing coats come in different forms. These could be gypsum based like Hardwall/Bonding or Sand & Cement based. Whichever it is, these are used to form a solid background with which to apply a finish plaster coat.
