Heat Loss is one of the major issues in properties pre 1940. With solid brick walls, there is no cavity that can be filled with insulation. This can cause up to 35% heat loss through the walls alone. To help counter act this, we can install insulation, be that internal or external. By doing either of these options below, you will be adding a number of benefits to your property.
Retaining Heat within the property, there by improving comfort.
Reducing the risk of damp/black spot mold.
Reduce Heating Costs.
Improve soundproofing.
Insulation Plasterboard Applied over existing walls & skimmed.
To insulate a wall internally, we can install insulation plasterboard in the form of Thermal XP, Thermal PIR Boards or Jackoboard . The insulation part of these boards can be made from a Extruded Polystyrene Foam (XPS) or Polyisocyanurate Foam (PIR). These are bonded to standard plasterboard to allow for a skimmed finish. These boards can be installed to masonry, stud or existing walls. To install these boards to masonry backgrounds, we use a multi purpose adhesive instead of a gypsum adhesive. This will help to reduce drawing moisture through the wall in the event the wall has no cavity.
These can be installed onto Masonry, Stud or Existing Walls.
When installed to a masonry background, a multi-purpose adhesive is used instead of gypsum adhesive. This helps to reduce drawing moisture through the wall.
Insulation plasterboard comes in arrange of different thickness.
Jackoboard can be used on window/door reveals, due to there small thickness. This helps to reduce cold spots round openings.
PIR Boards come with an added vapour barrier, this helps to reduce the risk on condensation.
